Celestial Navigation

The course takes place in the classroom.
Astronomy (terrestrial sphere, celestial sphere).
Position lines, calculated altitude, intercept, etc.
Calculation of latitude with solar observation.
Use of the sextant (without observation of stars).

Minimum age: none (with parents if under 18)
Experience required: none, but theoretical knowledge of geography and arithmetic concepts.
Course duration: 2 weekends

At the end of the course you will know how to use the sextant and make calculations with observations
of the Sun (anti-meri-pom) to get a ship's position.
